Technology and Trafficking

Throughout the month of January, we will be holding presentations on the links between technology and human trafficking. Learn about the technology and techniques traffickers use to groom and lure vulnerable people and how you can prevent incidents and thwart attempts by traffickers to contact you or your loved ones. You will also learn ways to be an active participant in the fight to end human trafficking.

The Big Game Mission Trip (Super Bowl)

Preparations for our annual mission to the NFL Super Bowl are already underway, but will hit full swing in January. The game itself is Sunday, February 2, but the Rahab’s Daughters team will depart for Miami in late January to set up operations in order to locate and rescue trafficked persons. Last year, along with our partner organizations, our mission efforts led to over 40 arrests and rescued a number of survivors.

If you are interested in contributing to our mission efforts, we encourage donations which will help with the Rahab’s Daughters team travel and provide basic necessities for rescued survivors as well as funds to transport survivors to safety. You can also contact us for more information about how you might be able to help.

Awareness Brick Painting

Throughout January, but especially on our annual mission trip, volunteers will be painting words of encouragement and prevention information on stones and bricks to place in hot spots for people to find. The goal is to encourage people to not purchase other people or to encourage victims to seek help. Painting and placing stones and bricks in your city, town, or neighborhood is a simple way you can help to raise awareness right in your own community. You can also encourage people who find the bricks to take a photo and share it using the hashtag #RahabsDaughtersAwarenessBrick.

#WearBlueDay on January 11

January 11 is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. #WearBlueDay is an effort by the Department of Homeland Security to raise awareness and educate people about human trafficking and the toll it takes on survivors and families. Use or follow the hashtag #WearBlueDay on January 11 to learn more and add your voice to the efforts we are all taking to stop human trafficking.

January is going to be a busy month for our team and volun, but our efforts continue year-round. If you are interested in donating, volunteering, or hosting an educational presentation by Rahab’s Daughters, please get in touch at info@rahabsdaughters.org.
